Our journey is ended, and with much success. We left Bangalore around 2am Saturday morning (6/30) and arrived into Dulles around 12:30pm the same day. Ok, so that's local time in both cases, but talk about trippy. I went approximately 40 hours between showers (ew!) and only slept a few hours on the first leg to Frankfurt. To say the least, I'm quite tired.
I have much more I'd like to write about, but not now, and probably not here. For one thing, I've been asked to compose a reflection piece on the trip, which I will work on once my head is working again (maybe Sunday). Also, for another thing, my parents should be landing in about an hour, so I need to get turned around and out the door to pick them up. Fortunately, Hanna is back from her tennis match (win!), so she'll be able to go with me.
It's amazing how much the body can be willed into tolerating when it comes to exhaustion. As long as I was in motion, I had no trouble staying awake and functional. However, the minute I slowed down and relaxed, the sandman came, with a vengeance. I was able to get about 90 minutes of sleep this afternoon to recover, which I suppose is better than nothing. However, I'm definitely now on the verge of outright collapse, I think.
Ok, enough rambling, saying nothing... can't tell that I'm tired, eh? :)
