Hanna and I traveled to New York City last weekend for the 2007 US Open. We had a great time, getting to see many of the great players of modern times (Federer, the Williams sisters, Maria Sharapova, Andy Roddick, James Blake, etc.). We did not get a chance to see Justine Henin, who just won the womens' singles final last night (and quite convincingly at that), but that's life. We also got to see a couple young American up-n-comers (Isner and Young). Overall, it was a great time!
My trip pictures are up on my photos site. No videos this time. If you're on Facebook, you can see a subset there, too.
In other news, we've decided to visit our new friends in London over the Thanksgiving holiday! :) We had vacillated on whether or not we could afford the trip, because tickets tend to be spendy, but there's a fare sale underway that saved us $100+/ticket, which made for a more convincing argument. Add to that the notion that we're seriously considering the whole "starting a family" thing very soon and, well, it seems like we go now or not for a very long time. So, off we go! We're very excited about this! :)
I have a bunch of other blog posts to pull together in the coming days/weeks. Despite being a lazy bum and not posting anything, I've been making notes as I read things, with the plan of coming back eventually to turn them into well-written pieces (unlike these string-of-consciousness blobs). :)
cheers!
